OWN THE DASH
Own the Dash is an immersive community that gives members access to exclusive content centering on self-discovery, improvement and fulfillment. Founded by Dakota Meyer, the first living United States Marine in 41 years to receive the Medal of Honor, Own the Dash brings together like-minded people in their journey to discovering purpose and truly taking ownership of their lives.
Dakota was born and raised in Columbia, Kentucky and is father to two beautiful daughters. After graduating from high school, Dakota enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2006 and completed basic training at Parris Island Recruit Training Depot later that year.
In 2007, he became one of the youngest school-trained snipers in the Marine Corps. Dakota deployed twice to combat, deploying to Iraq in 2007 and Afghanistan in 2009. For his actions on his last deployment to Afghanistan, he became the first living United States Marine in 41 years to receive the Medal of Honor.
After leaving the military, Dakota founded Own the Dash to provide a community for those looking to improve their lives, create purpose and—ultimately—leave a legacy. He is a seasoned motivational speaker dedicated to using his life experiences and unprecedented personal network to help others find success, joy and purpose in their own lives.
